In light of the current pandemic, the organisers are currently considering how best to run BMVC2020. Even if it doesn’t go ahead physically, we expect to run a virtual version, so please continue to prepare papers for submission. More details will be posted here and on the FAQ once they are decided.
The British Machine Vision Conference (BMVC) is the British Machine Vision Association (BMVA) annual conference on machine vision, image processing, and pattern recognition. It is one of the major international conferences on computer vision and related areas held in the UK. With increasing popularity and quality, it has established itself as a prestigious event on the vision calendar.
There have been 30 successful BMVC since 1985. They were organised in many major universities in the UK, such as Cambridge (1987), Oxford (1990), Birmingham (1995), UEA (2003), Edinburgh (2006), Leeds (2008), Imperial College London (2017) and Cardiff (2019). The scale of the conference has increased significantly in the past decade. In particular, the 2019 conference attracted many attendants and 1008 full paper submissions, which was a record high. 231 high-quality research papers were accepted.
